It’s a Sign of What?

Shell gas station sign showing 2.49 per gallon price

This could be our local gas station – except that it’s not, and the image is from eight years ago. It’s a sign, all right, the question is, of what?

Hi, Gang!

Number One Daughter has been watching the price of gasoline since November. (Maybe because we have asked her to use her own money to pay for gas.) She has been keeping me apprised of the falling price of gas. This morning on the way to swim practice it was down another three cents a gallon, below $2.50.

It’s the middle of winter. Heating oil season. I don’t understand.

I should probably be happy about saving the money, and I know this is a far cry from the moon turned to blood, but it feels ominous to me nevertheless.
